While the Narragansett Bay was jammed with spectator boats during Sunday’s VOR Leg 9 departure, we sat offshore and captured the fleet logging their first open-ocean mile as they set off on their trip to Cardiff. A fog engulfed them as they approached the harbor entrance nun and cracked off onto a reach. Boy was it a good choice. View some of our favorite shots below, and view more photos in our gallery.
